A personal pattern is created for the specific piece. Once complete, it is retained in the Atelier archive as a personal reference.

Thirty years of work did not create a catalogue. They created a way of making each fur for one particular woman.
The Atelier
The fur is not selected ready-made.
It is shaped for the woman who will wear it.
TESSY MALAMA is a private haute fourrure atelier in Athens, creating bespoke furs and selected redesigns of existing pieces.
Each creation begins with the woman — not with an available piece. With the line she is looking for, the way she wants to wear it, the material, the length and the proportions that belong to her.
Your Fur
Some creations begin with something that does not exist ready-made.
Some women come knowing exactly what they want: a Sable slightly longer, a Mink in a particular shade, a fur they remember but can no longer find.
Others know the line they are looking for without having decided every detail. Both are enough to begin.
Length, line, proportions, collar, sleeve and colour are developed together, as parts of the same piece.
Private Atelier
Personal meetings in Athens.
TESSY MALAMA works exclusively through personal commission. It does not maintain a collection of ready-made pieces for sale.
Personal meetings take place by appointment, in selected hotel suites in Athens or at the client’s residence when this better serves the process.
The first meeting is not a presentation of a collection. It is the beginning of a piece. With discretion, precision and absolute confidentiality.
SPECIAL COMMISSIONS
Some commissions call for materials beyond the Atelier’s core vocabulary.
Personal Meeting
Every creation begins with a conversation.
If you have a particular fur in mind, an image you kept, an older piece you remember, or simply the wish for something you cannot find ready-made, that is enough for the first conversation.
At the first meeting, the intended use, desired line and choice of material are discussed. Measurements are taken, the design direction is formed and a preliminary price range is presented.
Meetings take place in Athens, exclusively by appointment. Their duration is not predetermined.
For a redesign, the existing fur and its possibilities are assessed technically first.
The Creation
From the first line to the finished fur.
Personal pattern, toile, Private Fitting and construction follow a precise sequence, so that the line is confirmed before the fur is used.

The usual creation time is 4–6 weeks, depending on the material and the specific commission.
The toile
A toile in cotton cloth is created from the personal pattern so that the line can be tested on the body before the fur is used. During the Private Fitting, fit, proportions and movement are assessed and the necessary adjustments are made. Here, the line, material and final proposal are confirmed.
Construction
After the Private Fitting, the fur moves into construction. The skins are selected and arranged for the specific piece before cutting begins. Shade, hair length and density are considered together so that the material reads as a single whole. The technique is chosen each time for the result — not to simplify production.
Delivery
The completed fur is tried again on the woman for whom it was created. The fit is checked and, where needed, the final adjustments are made. It is delivered when it sits correctly on her.
After Delivery
Care continues.
The piece remains under the care of the Atelier, with technical review, maintenance and storage guidance whenever needed.
Redesign Υπάρχουσας Γούνας
When the fur already has a history.
A piece acquired years ago. A fur that was inherited. An exceptional material in a line that no longer expresses the woman who wears it.
- The possibility of redesign is assessed individually for each piece.
- If the material cannot support a result worthy of the Atelier, the redesign does not proceed.
- Where required, a new pattern and toile are created before any intervention.
When it proceeds, it is treated as a new design project built upon an already valuable material.
Before the Commission
What you need to know.
What is the price range for a new creation?
A preliminary price range is presented at the first meeting, once the line and material have been discussed. The final proposal and final price are established at the Private Fitting.
How long does a creation take?
The usual creation time is 4–6 weeks from the point at which the final direction and material have been confirmed. Timing may vary according to the fur and the requirements of the construction.
Can an existing fur be redesigned?
Yes, provided the condition of the material and the possibilities of the existing fur can support the proposed result. Every redesign begins with a technical assessment.
How is payment arranged?
A 50% deposit is paid upon acceptance of the final proposal. The remaining balance is settled on delivery.
Are ready-made furs available to purchase?
No. New creations are made exclusively through personal commission.
Can a creation be made in another material?
For special commissions, the Atelier may consider materials beyond Sable, Chinchilla and Mink.
