The personal pattern
Every new creation receives its own pattern, designed entirely for the individual woman. Once the piece is complete, the pattern is retained in the Atelier archive as her personal reference.
TESSY MALAMA · HAUTE FOURRURE · ATHENS
New haute fourrure creations and, selectively, redesigns of existing furs, exclusively through personal commission.
The Approach
We do not adapt a ready-made fur. We begin with the woman who will wear it: her proportions, the way she moves, her presence and what she wishes to express.
Sometimes the starting point is a rare material. At other times, it is an idea, an occasion or an image that already exists as a feeling. The creation evolves through this discreet dialogue until the fur assumes the form it deserves.
Continuity
It passed quietly from hand to hand and was shaped through the material, the pattern and the construction.
Thirty years of experience made the process more rigorous and more selective.
Today, this knowledge is not expressed through a ready collection. It is evident in the line, the fit and the way each fur is made for the woman who will wear it.
Private Atelier
TESSY MALAMA operates as a private atelier in Athens. Meetings take place in selected hotel suites or, when the process requires it, at the client’s residence.
The first meeting is not a presentation of a collection. It is the starting point of a specific creation — with time, discretion and absolute confidentiality.
EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONS
The material follows the woman — never the other way around.
Personal Meeting
Meetings take place exclusively by appointment.
At the first meeting, the intended use, the desired line and the choice of material are discussed. Measurements are taken, the initial design direction is formed and a preliminary price range is presented.
The meeting is an introduction and an exploration of design direction, with no obligation to commission.
For a redesign, the existing fur and its possibilities are first subject to a technical assessment.
The Creation
Each creation follows its own path: personal pattern, toile, confirmation and construction. Each creation determines how it is made — not the convenience of production.
The objective is for the fur to be right for the woman — in proportion, movement and presence.
The usual creation time is 4–6 weeks, depending on the material and the specific commission.
In haute fourrure, the personal pattern and toile come before construction so that the final choices can be confirmed before the fur is used. For redesigns, the existing material is always assessed first.

Before the fur is used, a trial garment is made in cotton cloth. During the Private Fitting, fit, proportions and movement are assessed. The final form and final price are established once the fit, material and final choices have been confirmed. The process proceeds after the final choices have been confirmed and the deposit has been paid.
Construction begins once the pattern, toile, material and final choices have been confirmed. The fur is then made according to what has been established during the Private Fitting.
The fur is delivered after the final fitting. The relationship with the Atelier continues after delivery, with personal care for its maintenance, storage and preservation over time.
After Delivery
The creation remains under the care of the Atelier, with technical review, maintenance and storage guidance whenever needed.
Redesign of an Existing Fur
Redesign is not approached as a series of superficial alterations. It begins with an assessment of the material’s condition and the fur’s technical limits.
What is delivered is not the old fur corrected. It is its new form.
